my pictureHello Beautiful Person!
My name is Hilary and I began this business in 1987, choosing the name Bunny with a Toolbelt because I love to learn and work in many different art media. I also liked the name because (much to my mother's chagrin,) I was quite fond of appearing in public in a bunny suit. Some people didn't mind it so much, however, including Carye Bye, who took this great picture of me for her annual Bunny on a Bike Ride in Portland.

When I'm not working on this business, I spend most of my free time making other artwork. I have created large scale installations for the Fuller Craft Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Craft, and the Indianapolis Art Center. I am represented by Velvet da Vinci Gallery, who has taken my work across the world to places like Collect and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. My favorite form of vacation is participating in artist residencies around the globe, including Philadelphia, Finland, and Costa Rica. I am currently working on a project called "Natural Selection," which will be at Ogle Gallery in Portland, OR in September of 2008. There will be a concurrent show at the Gallery at the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland which will feature my site-specific work for the body and for the home.

I also keep a blog about the things I make, read, and look at at www.hilarypfeifer.blogspot.com
